The Hyatt Place project, led by Tetra Tech, brought a new level of contemporary hospitality to Los Angeles. Designed as a stylish and functional hotel destination, Hyatt Place combines modern architecture with sustainable engineering practices, offering travelers comfort, convenience, and a strong connection to the surrounding community.
During construction, McMahon Engineering was contracted to provide Beam and Lagging shoring services for the hotel’s foundation excavation. By installing soldier pile walls with timber lagging, our team created a secure earth retention system that stabilized the site during deep excavation. This solution ensured soil support, protected nearby structures and utilities, and allowed the foundation to be constructed safely and efficiently.
Our role in the Hyatt Place project underscores McMahon Engineering’s reputation as a trusted shoring and drilling contractor in Los Angeles. With proven expertise in earth retention systems and temporary shoring solutions, we helped deliver the stability and precision needed for a landmark hotel development.
